CECS Third-Year Student To Dong Anh Khoa Joins NTU Global Connect Summer Program – 1% Acceptance Rate

May 20, 2025

Congratulations to To Dong Anh Khoa, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), on being accepted into the prestigious NTU Global Connect Summer Program 2025 at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. With only 60 students selected from over 4,600 applicants, the program’s acceptance rate stands at an incredibly competitive 1%.

The NTU Global Connect Fellowship is a fully funded two-month research internship that brings together top undergraduate and master’s students from around the world to work under the guidance of NTU’s leading professors. The program offers a stipend of SGD 5,000, free on-campus housing, and a rich calendar of research activities, academic seminars, and networking events.

Just earlier this year, he completed a Spring 2025 academic exchange at the University of Toronto through the SEED scholarship funded by the Canadian government—demonstrating his consistent pursuit of international academic experiences.

The application process for the NTU Global Connect program was highly selective. Candidates submitted a comprehensive application package, including a CV, letters of recommendation, and a self-introduction video. Applicants could indicate up to three preferred professors, and were selected based on alignment of research interests. Khoa was accepted by his first-choice professor—a rare accomplishment.

“It was only during the orientation that I found out how competitive the program was. The cohort includes students from Oxford, Cambridge, UC Berkeley, ETH Zurich… I feel really honored to be among them.” Khoa shared

CECS proudly congratulates Khoa on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to seeing how he continues to grow as a globally minded engineer and researcher.
