General Information
VinUni’s Student Research Grant Program provides financial support to students engaged in research projects that have the potential to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in their field of study. By providing funding for personnel, equipment, conference trip, and other research-related expenses, these grants enable students to undertake ambitious research projects that they might not otherwise be able to pursue. The program’s funding mechanism will be reviewed by the Research Affairs Committee (RAC) on a yearly basis.
In the AY25 – 26, the Research Management Office (RMO) will continue decentralizing the Student Research Grant program to the four colleges of VinUni: the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Management, the College of Engineering and Computer Science, and the College of Health Science.
Colleges are asked to take the lead in developing and managing their own Student Research Grant Program under the supervision of RAC and RMO. Colleges are required to organize orientation sessions on research methodologies, research project management, and research ethics for students to ensure compliance with VinUni’s Financial and Research Management Policies. These include, but are not limited to, seminars, academic forums, and supplementary courses.
- To train students in developing and managing research projects;
- To develop and enhance scientific research capabilities for students, providing them with hands-on experience in research methodologies, critical thinking, and data analysis to prepare them for future academic or professional research roles;
- To nurture talented young scientists, helping students deepen their understanding of academic subjects by applying theoretical knowledge to practical research;
- To train students to present their research findings in written and oral formats, honing their communication skills for academic and professional settings.
VinUni’s Student Research Grant Program, administered by College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at VinUni, offers two distinct funding opportunities: Sub-program 1: Research Project Grant, and Sub-program 2: Publication & Conference Grant. Eligible undergraduate students may apply to both programs, adhering to the specified deadlines. Detailed guidelines and application procedures for each program are provided below.
