Sub-program 2: Publication & Conference Grant
Sub-program 2: Publication & Conference Grant
Publication & Conference Grant is offered under Sub-program 2 of the Student Research Grant Program. This funding stream supports CECS undergraduate students in disseminating completed research through publications or conferences, distinct from Sub-program 1’s focus on project execution. Below are the details for Sub-program 2.
Open to CECS undergraduate students who are either:
- First authors of completed research outcomes (e.g., manuscripts or conference papers), or
- The sole VinUni co-author of completed research outcomes, provided no VinUni faculty are first authors or co-authors. If multiple VinUni students co-author a conference paper, only one may apply to attend and present.
All VinUni authors must indicate VinUni affiliation in the publication or presentation.
Requires a faculty endorsement (e.g., an email from a CECS faculty member confirming the research’s validity and quality) submitted with the application.
Total Allocation: USD 6,000 (VND 156,000,000) for AY25-26.
Maximum per Request: USD 1,000 (VND 26,000,000) to ensure equitable distribution.
Eligible Expenses:
- Publication (e.g., journal publication costs)
- Conference participation (e.g., registration fees, travel costs including airfare, accommodation expenses and per diem).
Disbursement Process: Funds are managed by CECS and disbursed as reimbursements or payment directly to vendors based on submitted receipts or invoices. No direct payments will be made to students.
Funding Basis: Awards are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis until the total allocation is depleted.
Submission Requirements:
- A completed application form
- Proof of acceptance, such as a journal acceptance email or conference invitation
Application Period: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis from 17 November 2025 to 16 November 2026, or until funds are depleted.
Notification Timing: Applicants will be notified of decisions within two (02) weeks of submission.
Proof of Dissemination:
- For publications: Submit the published paper file or Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
- For conferences: Submit certificate of participation or conference proceeding.
Sharing the research results: Recipients are encouraged to present their work at a VinUni research symposium or share results through an alternative CECS platform (details to be announced).
Acknowledgement: Student authors are required to recognize VinUni’s Student Research Grant Program in the acknowledgement section (e.g., “This research was funded by VinUni’s Student Research Grant Program AY25-26”).
Exclusivity: Funds from Sub-program 2 are separate and cannot be used to supplement Sub-program 1’s budget.
Funding Limit: Once the USD 6,000 allocation is depleted, the application form will be closed, and no further applications will be accepted for AY25-26 grant.
Frequency Limit: Students can receive only one Sub-program 2 award per academic year.
