Strengthening Collaboration: HCMUS Visits VinUniversity to Expand Academic and Research Opportunities
On December 10, 2024, representatives from VNU-HCM University of Science (HCMUS) visited VinUniversity’s campus to celebrate the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions. This agreement signifies a significant milestone in their partnership, paving the way for comprehensive collaboration in education, research, and student development.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions about areas for collaboration. HCMUS presented a roadmap of joint activities, including key events such as Convocation, Graduation Ceremonies, and visits to the VinUni Smart Health Center. These activities reflect the shared vision of creating meaningful academic exchanges.
Representing VinUniversity, Dr. Laurent highlighted the potential for joint research tackling global challenges in health and environmental sustainability through the application of artificial intelligence. He also proposed collaborative efforts in traffic management and other fields leveraging HCMUS’s areas of expertise.
Dr. Phạm Huy Hiệu, from VinUniversity, emphasized opportunities for collaboration in entrepreneurship and innovation through the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI). He also discussed advancing research in data science as a crucial area for both universities to explore. Furthermore, the VinUni Smart Health Center (VISCH) introduced initiatives for joint research and training in health sciences, including PhD and Master’s programs, and extended an invitation for HCMUS students to apply to these programs.
The meeting concluded with a campus tour, where the HCMUS delegation explored VinUniversity’s modern facilities and dynamic learning environment. This visit not only strengthened the partnership between the two universities but also laid the foundation for impactful collaborations that promise to advance academic excellence and research innovation for years to come.
