Vingroup Joins the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Industrial Liaison Program
Hanoi, Vietnam – On June 23, 2022, Vingroup announced its membership in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) prestigious Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). Vingroup joins more than 240 other leading enterprises and is proud to be the first member from Vietnam. With this membership, Vingroup affirms its pioneering position in the global technology industry utilizing intelligent solutions to apply new technologies in serving all customers.
The Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) is MIT’s most comprehensive portal, by which company members can meet with leading faculty and researchers. Their private customized executive briefings, held separately with up to 20 senior corporate staff members, are designed to enhance strategic planning, examine emerging research and technology, and consider new management approaches to corporate issues.
As an ILP member, Vingroup and its member companies can access the activities, events, and services organized and provided by ILP. This is one of the advantages that assist Vingroup in conducting research, promoting technology development in areas such as big data, automobiles, manufacturing, healthcare, etc., as well as connecting with startups and other member companies. By attending ILP events, companies can also exchange recruitment needs and connect the workforce to serve common interests.
In discussing the collaboration with its first member from Vietnam, Mr. Todd Glickman, Senior Director of MIT’s ILP said, “We are pleased to welcome our first member from Vietnam to ILP. This demonstrates Vingroup’s pioneering role and its commitment in promoting the sector of industrial technology. As a member of ILP, Vingroup is contributing to the world’s best practice network along with leading members in multiple fields, as well as easily connecting needs among other businesses, sharing, and learning to progress together toward our common goals.”
Since the end of 2021, Vingroup adjusted its orientation and redefined its primary focus areas: Technology and Industry, Trade and Services, and Social Enterprise. To develop the Technology-Industry section, Vingroup focuses on two main activities: building Vingroup’s technology ecosystem and connecting global intelligence by cooperating with the world’s leading technology partners, in order to accelerate the application of the latest and most advanced technologies for the company’s products and services.
Joining ILP will effectively support Vingroup’s mission. Member companies of the Vingroup technology ecosystem such as VinFast, Vinmec, VinUni, VinAI, VinBigData, VinBrain, etc. will work closely with ILP experts and MIT researchers to promote research and technology development. The membership agreement will also provide Vingroup with access to learning opportunities for trainings at MIT, which will benefit VinUni University’s students and increase their engagement.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy – Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup shared: “Vingroup considers technology the key to success. We are constantly looking for opportunities to connect and cooperate with the world’s leading businesses and partners to develop and apply the latest technologies to bring more benefits to our customers. As a member of ILP, Vingroup has the opportunity to approach the leading companies and talents in the industry, and together we can provide high-class products, solutions and services.”
MIT is a world-class research university. From 2012 to 2020, the annual QS World University Rankings have identified MIT as the #1 university in the world for engineering & technology, as well as natural sciences. MIT ranked 2nd overall in the Reuters Top 100 Innovative Universities in the World in 2019.
