Abstract
As the semiconductor industry moves toward heterogeneous integration (HI) to enable higher performance density in data centers, AI/ML, autonomous vehicles, and mobile devices, power management technologies must evolve to meet increasingly complex demands. This talk will explore integrated power delivery and management solutions tailored to these next-generation systems. Topics will include power delivery architectures, advanced converter topologies, integrated passive devices, and emerging packaging strategies. A 2-stage HI power delivery example will also be presented to illustrate real-world applications.
About the Speaker
Dr. Hanh-Phuc Le is an Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California San Diego and co-Director of the NSF IUCRC Power Management Integration Center. He co-founded Lion Semiconductor in 2012, where he served as CTO before the company’s acquisition by Cirrus Logic in 2021. His industry experience includes roles at Oracle, Intel, Rambus, JDA Tech (Korea), and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).
Dr. Le has published over 60 journal and conference papers, authored three book chapters, and holds 21 U.S. patents. His research focuses on miniaturized/on-die power conversions, high conversion ratios, and intelligent power delivery for applications ranging from data centers and telecommunications to robotics, automotive systems, and IoT devices.
He is the recipient of several prestigious honors, including the NSF CAREER Award (2021), the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society Pre-doctoral Achievement Award (2012–2013), and UC Berkeley’s Sevin Rosen Funds Award for Innovation. Dr. Le currently serves as Associate Editor for the IEEE JESTPE and holds leadership roles in multiple IEEE technical committees.
We warmly welcome all students, faculty, and industry professionals to attend.
