The 9th IFToMM International Symposium on Robotics and Mechatronics (ISRM 2026) was successfully held at VinUniversity in Hanoi from 15 to 17 July 2026. The symposium brought together researchers, engineers, academics, students, and industry representatives from around the world to present recent research, exchange perspectives, and explore new directions in robotics and mechatronics.
ISRM 2026 featured 58 research papers, 165 author entries, and contributions from 47 institutions across 16 countries and territories. The technical program comprised six sessions covering mechanism design and kinematics, mechatronic systems and actuation, mobile and autonomous robotics, dynamics and control, medical and assistive robotics, and industrial robotics and manufacturing.
Throughout the technical sessions, participants presented studies on topics ranging from intelligent robot navigation and cooperative autonomous systems to assistive technologies, advanced control, industrial automation, and smart manufacturing. The presentations were followed by active discussions, allowing authors to receive feedback, exchange methodological insights, and identify potential areas for further research.
Beyond the formal program, ISRM 2026 created valuable opportunities for participants to connect through informal discussions, networking activities, the welcome reception, and the conference banquet. These exchanges strengthened links among universities, research institutions, and industry while opening possibilities for future academic and research collaboration.
The symposium also recognized outstanding contributions through the Best Student Paper, Best Application Paper, and Best Research Paper awards. These awards celebrated high-quality research with strong academic merit, practical relevance, and potential impact on the development of robotics and mechatronics.
