CECS VinUni Signs MOA with Graphicsminer Vietnam, Gaining Multi-Billion-VND In-kind Support for Cloud and AI Training

Recently, the College of Engineering and Computer Science at VinUniversity and Graphicsminer Vietnam Company Limited signed a Memorandum of Agreement establishing a strategic collaboration to strengthen applied artificial intelligence (AI) research and develop high-quality technological talent. The partnership underscores both parties’ shared commitment to advancing Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem through enhanced research capacity, academic–industry cooperation, and long-term investment in emerging technologies.

Under this Agreement, Graphicsminer provides CECS VinUni with in-kind support, comprising access to high-performance cloud computing infrastructure on Cloud Platform, including H100, A100, and T4 GPU resources and advanced AI training programs designed to elevate the university’s research capabilities and enrich its academic offerings.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Laurent El Ghaoui emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration: “Graphicsminer’s contribution will significantly enhance our ability to accelerate applied AI research, especially in areas requiring intensive computational resources. We look forward to expanding this partnership into joint research initiatives and meaningful experiential opportunities for our students.”

Mr. Hoang Minh Phuong, CEO of Graphicsminer, highlighted the company’s commitment to long-term cooperation: “We believe this partnership lays a strong foundation for developing impactful AI solutions and further industry–academia collaboration. We are excited to work with VinUni on future projects and talent development initiatives.” Dr. Vu Anh Tuan, COO of Graphicsminer Vietnam, also emphasized his expectation that this collaboration will open new avenues for strong, sustainable partnerships between academia and industry in pursuit of shared scientific and technological goals.

Graphicsminer Vietnam is an innovative technology team originating from a Human–Computer Interaction research lab in Ho Chi Minh City. The company has been selected for the Google for Startups Accelerator program and recognized as a Top 3 winner of the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge, reflecting its strong capabilities in deep tech and creative engineering. With a mission to bring meaningful, sustainable, and intelligent products to young learners, Graphicsminer Vietnam focuses on integrating advanced technologies such as augmented reality, computer vision, and interactive design into practical educational tools.

Building on this foundation, the team has developed SCABO, an eco-friendly yet smart AR-enabled toy kit designed to spark creativity and hands-on learning in children. SCABO products have been exported to Thailand, Korea, and Spain, and are currently adopted by over 60 schools across Vietnam and abroad. Through its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and high-quality learning experiences, Graphicsminer Vietnam continues to grow as a trusted partner in the global EdTech and smart-toy ecosystem.

In addition, VinUni Biorobotics Lab – led by Dr. Thai Mai Thanh, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Graphicsminer have been collaborating on research in the fields of Haptics and Physical AI, focusing on developing robotic technologies capable of fine-grained physical interaction with humans. The two sides are working together on AI-driven robotic applications in healthcare, education, and rehabilitation, including haptic feedback systems, robotic devices that support motor recovery, and robot-based technical simulation platforms for professional training.

This collaboration reflects the long-term direction of both parties in developing a new generation of intelligent robots with the ability to learn, perceive, and interact naturally, contributing to the advancement of Physical AI research and high-technology applications that benefit the community.
